One of the outstanding skills of porcelain designer Stefanie Hering is to transfer classic elements of the great porcelain tradition into an absolutely contemporary form. But in few of her collections is this as evident as in the "Polite" and "Glamour" series. Starting with the classic, hand-applied and polished gold rim, Stefanie Hering developed designs with real gold, silver and platinum plating, which at the same time stand for the highest level of reduction and impressive opulence. Plate rims are covered with rhythmic stripes or entirely in precious metal, vessels like cups, bowls or herring's iconic teapot look as if they were made of solid gold or silver. All objects by Hering Berlin are completely handmade. A wafer-thin, hand-drawn line in a contrasting colour further intensifies the effect of the rich gold, silver or platinum tone.
