Amélie Pichard’s subversive vision through “Welcome Home” melded warm domesticity with forward-looking design — setting a tone of imaginative reinvention.

The overarching motif of this edition of Maison et Objet was “Welcome Home”, curated by Amélie Pichard. The theme explored the intimate interplay between craftsmanship and AI’s creative potential, symbolised by the playful teapot–house iconography.

Design Trends Main Focus:

  1. Neo-Surrealist Touches: The fair leaned heavily into playful, rule-breaking creativity. Vibrant visuals and surrealist flourishes created immersive experiences, reflecting a broader trend of blending fantasy with function.

  2. Design Innovations: From food-inspired decorative objects (like whimsical vases), to avant-garde retail concepts and displays blending artistry and merchandise—creativity was on full display.

  3. Forward Focus: The Design District spotlighted bold experimentation—from AI-integrated concepts to untested materials—highlighting a wish to push the boundaries of traditional design.

This edition of Maison & Objet served as a vibrant laboratory for tomorrow's design—from concept to craftsmanship—anchored by creativity, future-oriented thinking, and cross-disciplinary experimentation. It assured its status not just as a trade fair, but as a compass pointing toward design's next frontier.
